What Should I Do Before a Home Inspection in Deer Park, TX? Share Concerns with House Inspector & More

When you are getting ready to purchase a home, there is so much that has to be done. As exciting as this time is, it can also be stressful. One thing that must be done to get the financing done that you need is a home inspection. Not only is it required by most lenders, but it is also a great way to get to know the house you are about to purchase as well. Before the home inspection happens, you need to make sure you are ready for it. JMark Inspections is here to share some tips to help ensure you are ready when the home inspection portion of purchasing a home is here.

What are 4 Things You Should Do to Prepare Your House for a Home Inspection?

There are several things that you can do to make sure you are ready for the home inspection. It is always a good idea to clear your schedule when the home inspection time comes so that you can walk through the home with your inspector. This will be the best way to ask any questions that you may have as he/she walks you through the house. Here are our best tips to get someone ready for a home inspection.
– Share your concerns about the home with the inspector. If you noticed anything as you walked through the house the first time, mention it to the inspector so they can spend more time on addressing that concern during the process. If there are questionable parts in the house, we will spend more time in those areas.
– You should never expect a home to be perfect. Almost never does a home inspection take place and have absolutely nothing that is wrong pop up in the report. This doesn’t mean that the problems are going to be big problems that are expensive to fix. There are many instances where there are only small details that need to be addressed.
– Make sure the attic and the basement areas (if applicable) are accessible. The foundation is going to need a close look, and the roof is another area that is usually expensive to repair as well. You want to know that these areas are going to be able to be inspected thoroughly. You want to ask the seller about the age of the roof as well so that the inspector has an idea of how old it is. This is helpful for the future homeowner to have this information as well.
– Get ready to strategize any arrangements that need to be made with the sellers about repairs and findings in the report and getting them fixed.
